Want to add a new intro, extend a verse, or create a smooth outro? With Udio, you can expand your song in just a few clicks.

How to Extend Your Song

  1. Go to the Create page.

  2. Select a song and click "Extend".

    • The button is next to your song title.

    • In Extend Mode, you'll see controls and a preview of your original track to keep things seamless.

  3. Adjust your prompt.

    • The original prompt is pre-filled for consistency, but you can tweak it for fresh ideas.


      For example, a mellow acoustic intro could build into a roaring guitar solo with distorted power chords. Try experimenting with different genres, unexpected musical transitions, and styles!


    • Want to reset? Click the arrow next to "Extend" and select "Reset".

  4. Choose where to extend.

    • Before or After: Add sections at the start or end.

    • Intro/Outro: Craft a perfect beginning or fade-out.

    • Crop & Extend: Trim parts of the original for a smoother flow.

    • Extend up to 10 sections total!

  5. Customize lyrics or go instrumental.

    • Have longer lyrics? Split them into sections.

    • Want an instrumental break? Leave the lyrics blank.

  6. Keep Creating!

    • Stack multiple extensions to shape a full composition.
